William J. “Bill” Benfield

Founder & CEO

William J. “Bill” Benfield is a licensed insurance agent who works with individuals to find the best financial solutions to meet their needs and goals.  After working with clients in the financial and insurance industry for 50 years, Bill has seen trends and financial products available, along with rises and falls in the economy.  Bill has found ways to help his clients benefit from the “ups” and protect themselves from the “downs” of uncertain economic times we may find ourselves in.

Bill served as president of the Rocky Mount Association of Life Underwriters in 1988 and he was chosen by them as “Underwriter of the Year” in 1989 and in 2007.  From 1989 to 1993 he served as Area Vice President for the North Carolina Association of Life Underwriters and was elected Secretary in 1994 and State President in 1996.  During this time, he helped his clients achieve their financial goals.  While he is certainly proud of his accomplishments and professional leadership, Bill is most proud of his titles at home as husband to his beautiful wife, Carissa, father to his two children, Brad and Ashlie, and grandfather to the apple of his eye, Ava. Benfield Financial, Inc. is a family owned and operated business.

Bradley "Brad" Benfield

Co-owner & Vice President

Brad, co-owner and Vice President of Benfield Financial, Inc., focuses on helping individuals plan financially for their retirement, with an emphasis on product choices where the principal is protected from market declines and an income that the client can’t outlive is generated. With years of experience in the financial arena as a licensed agent, Brad is dedicated to helping clients become familiar with options they may not be aware of, plan, prepare, and protect their financial future, from saving through legacy, while navigating the complexities of retirement.

Brad is a graduate of Liberty University. His passion for providing tailored financial solutions is matched by his commitment to ongoing professional development. At Benfield Financial, Inc., Brad is known for his integrity, personalized approach, and deep understanding of the importance of safeguarding his clients’ retirement against the volatility of the market.

Outside of his professional life, Brad is a proud husband to his beautiful wife, Kerry, and a devoted dog owner to Beesly, an energetic Australian Shepherd, and Remi, an adorable Labrador Retriever.  When he’s not working with clients, he enjoys finding balance between work and family life, including traveling, snowboarding, and unwinding on his farm.

Michelle

Client Services Manager

With over a decade of experience as a licensed insurance agent, Michelle brings a deep understanding of the industry and a commitment to providing exceptional service at every step. As the client services manager at Benfield Financial, Inc., she works closely with Brad and Bill to ensure policies are written, funded, and issued. Once a policy is in place, Michelle coordinates delivery and continues to support clients with any ongoing service needs—including policy updates, beneficiary changes, annual reviews, and more.

Outside of work, she’s married and a proud mom to three amazing adult children. She enjoys spending time at the lake or beach, traveling whenever possible, and relaxing by the pool.  At home, she’s joined by her chihuahua, Gabby, who confidently runs the show.

Janet

Seminar Reservationist

Since June of 2022, Janet has been bringing her own unique combination of creativity and attention to detail to her position here at Benfield Financial, Inc. As our seminar reservationist, she is the very first point of contact for all potential guests, handling all reservations and confirmations for our upcoming dinner seminars. She also prepares seminar materials, creates prospect accounts as well as tracks and maintains all records of our events.

Outside of her professional life, Janet is an advocate for animal rescue and shares her home with her three “cheese boys” (Cheddar, Feta and Colby Jack), cats that she’s adopted one at a time over the past four years. 

Amy

Seminar & Event Manager

Amy provides a thoughtful, organized approach to her role as seminar and event manager at Benfield Financial, Inc. Whether she is coordinating the logistics for seminars, managing the many moving parts of a client event or tracking new business prospects, she brings creativity and professionalism to every project.

Outside of work, she enjoys getting lost in a good book, staying active outdoors, baking sweet treats, and spending time with family, especially her precious niece and nephews. Life at home is never dull with two sweet rescue dogs—Holly and Bo—and a flock of backyard chickens who always keep her smiling.
